Anthony Bayani Rodriguez is a writer and educator. He has a dual degree in Africana Studies and Modern Culture & Media from Brown University. He earned his MA and PhD from the University of Southern California’s Department of American Studies & Ethnicity. He is a former Scholar-in-Residence of the New York Public Library’s Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture. He has received fellowships from the Ford Foundation and the Samuel Newhouse Foundation. He lives in New York City, where he is Assistant Professor in St. John’s University’s Department of Sociology and Anthropology.
